Subject: sing my song to me
Mood: pastel Music: Nirvana's "You Know You're Right"
Driving requires a certain level of insanity,
Perhaps qualifying as mere irrationality
Travelling so fast
You're dodging bullets
Threat of wrecks such high probability
You factor in the speeds and the road rage and the fatigue of not just you but other drivers.
Of eighteen wheelers and SUVs not even seeing you as they switch lanes. Of loonies who like to play chicken, or at very least get a rise out of you, for sport.
Of derelicts bobbling around on the roads, oblivious when they turn a corner onto a busy road, right into your path.
Of cars breaking down, running out of gas or electrical fires with spontaneous combustion.
Losing brakes.
The car behind you losing brakes or hydroplaning.
Trudging along the highway with a gas can to go fill your tank, all those loonies still out on the road, but now you're a pedestrian. That would be one strike against you on a video game.
Just thinking how it's unnatural for human beings to travel at such rates of speed, although they do it anyway, and get addicted. To the feel, the rush, the convenience.
I miss Starbuck.
