MWR 8th and 11th in Nationwide Texas race by Kellyanne Lynch

David Reutimann finished 8th in the O'Reilly Challenge, this afternoon's Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. His #99 Aaron's Dream Machine spent 89 of 200 laps in the top ten. Josh Wise in the #00 Napa Auto Parts Toyota came home 11th, coming back from being one lap down.
David rolled of 19th while Josh started 29th. The call to start engines came at 3:38pm ET, and Carl Edwards led the field to the green flag eleven minutes later.
Kevin Harvick took the lead going into the second lap. David was up to 16th, and Josh was 25th. Josh lost a spot one lap later. On lap 4, David followed suit. He was 17th, and Josh was 24th. Josh picked up another position one lap later. David passed Justin Allgaier for 16th on lap 8, while Josh moved into 22nd. Denny Hamlin passed David on lap 12, moving him back to 17th; however, David got around Stephen Leicht one lap later. Meanwhile, Josh picked up 21st from Allgaier.
David got back around Hamlin for 15th on lap 16. One lap later, he passed Jason Leffler for 14th. Hamlin passed David again on lap 19. The #99 had gotten around Hamlin's #32 initially, because Hamlin had gotten into Brad Keselowski. Lap 21 saw David pick up 14th from Jamie McMurray.
Kyle Busch bumped Harvick and took the lead going into lap 24. On lap 37, David moved into 13th after getting around Hamlin again. Josh picked up 20th within the next couple laps; meanwhile, Hamlin got back around David. Josh lost a spot on lap 49 while David picked up 13th from Bobby Hamilton Jr.
The first caution was on lap 50. Donnie Neuenberger hit the wall after battling with Mike and Steve Wallace. Juan Pablo Montoya got the free pass. The leaders pit, and Busch retained the lead. David came out 7th; however, he had to pit again with damage.
Busch led the lap 54 restart. David was 23rd and moved up to 20th within the first lap back to green. Josh was 16th. David picked up 19th one lap later and 18th on lap 58. Josh was 17th one lap later. Lap 60 saw David move into 16th as Josh fell to 18th. The #99 was 15th on lap 62, having gotten around Steve Wallace. Three laps later, David picked up 14th from Jason Leffler. Josh was up to 17th. On lap 74, David was 13th and Josh was 16th. The #99 got around Marcos Ambrose's #59 for 12th on lap 77. Josh was 17th by lap 91. On lap 104, Josh went a lap down; he was 17th. Green flag pit stops began on lap 109.
The yellow flag waved for the second time on lap 114 for Robert Richardson III, who stalled on the track. This was during green flag stops, and David was 10th. He stopped under yellow and maintained 10th. David Stremme got the free pass.
Busch led the restart on lap 120. David was 9th, and Josh was 14th and the first driver one lap down. Two laps into the run, the #99 was 8th. On lap 143, David picked up 7th from Scott Wimmer.
The third caution was on lap 150 for debris in Turn 1. Josh Wise received the free pass, and lead lap cars pit under yellow. David returned in 6th. Chords were later noted on his tires.
Busch led the restart with 45 laps to go. David was 7th, and Josh was 13th. By lap 173, Josh was 12th. Meanwhile, a pit reporter noted that David was running speeds close to the leader's.
With 21 laps to go, Montoya slid through the grass and drew the fourth caution. Hamlin had gotten into him. David Stremme received the free pass. David reported that his car was tight and that he felt "slow" and "sluggish" on the straightaways. His crew made an adjustment, and he came off pit road in 8th. Harvick broke an axel as he came off pit road.
Busch led the restart with 16 laps to go. David was 8th, and Josh was 12th. By lap 186, Josh had picked up 11th. He was 10th three laps later.
The fifth caution came with 11 laps to go. Stremme had knocked the air off Allgaier's #12. Hamlin received the free pass.
Racing resumed with 7 laps to go. Busch led, David was 8th, and Josh was 10th. On lap 196, Josh was back to 11th. Kyle Busch went on to win. David came home 8th, and Josh was 11th.
