David 16th in Kansas Nationwide race by Kellyanne Lynch

David Reutimann finished 16th in the Kansas Lottery 300, this afternoon's Nationwide series race at Kansas Speedway. His #99 Aaron's Toyota struggled after an incident on a restart on lap 44, when Brad Keselowski got into him.
The call to start engines came at 3:38pm ET. Polesitter Kevin Harvick led the field off pit road while David rolled off 5th. The green flag waved at 3:47pm. David lost four spots one lap into the race; he was down to 9th. He picked up 7th the next time around the track.
The first caution was on lap 15 for Steve Wallace's smoking #66. He went to pit road. Kenny Hendrick got back one of the two laps he was down, and some drivers chose to make stops.
Harvick led the restart on lap 20 when David in 7th. One lap into the run, the Aaron's Dream Machine was 6th after going around Carl Edwards' #60; however, Edwards repassed him one circuit later. Clint Bowyer passed on lap 24, dropping David to 8th. The #99 was back around the #60 on lap 26. David picked up 6th two laps later. He was up to 5th, having passed David Stremme, when the yellow flag waved again.
The second caution was on lap 29 for Bobby Hillin Jr. He had cut a tire and hit the wall. Kenny Hendrick was back on the lead lap as he picked up the free pass for the second time. David was among those who made stops. He came off 7th.
Andrew Ranger led the restart on lap 34 but dropped back dramatically. He hadn't restarted, and the green flag waved without him. Greg Biffle picked up the lead. David had been 9th but was 7th one lap into the run. He was 7th on lap 36.
Harvick reclaimed the top spot on lap 37. Two laps later, Brad Keselowski passed the #99 and dropped David to 8th.
Debris in Turn 3 prompted the third caution on lap 40. David had gotten back around Keselowski for 7th.
Lap 44 saw the restart with Harvick leading and David in 6th; Greg Biffle had pit under yellow. Keselowski tried to pass David before the restart and picked up a left front tire rub. Behind him, Mark Martin hit the wall.
The fourth caution was on lap 45. David sustained right rear damage that slowed his car dramatically. He was over a second behind the leaders during the next run.
Harvick led the lap 50 restart. David was 5th but lost a spot to Jeff Burton one lap into the run. He was 7th on lap 52 when David Stremme passed and 8th when Denny Hamlin passed on lap 53. David fell to 10th on lap 54. One lap later, Kenny Wallace slowed with a left rear tire flat. David was 12th. He dropped to 15th on lap 58. Meanwhile, Wallace returned to pit road for a loose lugnut. David was 16th on lap 59 and lost another spot one lap later. On lap 65, David fell to 19th. Keselowski passed him on lap 67. David was 21st on lap 72.
On lap 83, David lost the lead lap and a spot to Jason Keller. He was 22nd. He picked up 21st on lap 88. The #99 pit on lap 90.
"Do you know how ridiculous this car is?" David had said on his radio. "It's not good."
The timing of the next caution wasn't good either.
The yellow flag waved for the fifth time on lap 92. Hillin Jr had gotten into the corner too high, spun through the grass, and hit the inside wall. David was 31st and trapped two laps down.
Denny Hamlin led the lap 97 restart with David two laps down in 31st. He was 27th by lap 98 and 26th on lap 102. Within the next six laps, he picked up 25th. By lap 144, he was 24th. He was 23rd fisx laps after that; he'd passed Scott Lagassee Jr.
Hamlin made a scheduled green flag stop on lap 151. Matt Kenseth led a lap before pitting, at which time Kyle Busch took over the top spot. Kevin Harvick was the leader on lap 153, when David was 21st.
The sixth caution was on lap 154. Mike Bliss had rear-ended Kyle Busch and turned him into the wall hard so that Busch could not see out of his #32 as he went to the garage. Keselowski spun upon seeing the accident. Marcos Ambrose was the leader. David was 19th and marked just one lap down.
Hamlin led the restart in traffic on lap 165. David was 19th and lapped but was up to 18th two laps into the run. On lap 173, David got around Mike Wallace for 17th; however, he lost the spot to Wallace three laps later.
Hamlin went on to win while David finished 16th and one lap down. Tune in tomorrow to the Cup race at 1:00pm ET on ABC!
