David 8th in California Nationwide race by Kellyanne Lynch

David Reutimann finished 8th in the Camping World RV Service 300, tonight's Nationwide Series race at California Speedway.
The green flag waved at 10:17pm ET. Kyle Busch led the field to the stripewhile David rolled off 13th. He moved into 11th as he followed Brian Vickers along the bottom groove. On lap 2, David was 9th. He ducked under Jimmie Johnson for 8th going into lap 5; however, four laps later, Jamie McMurray dropped him back to 9th. Clint Bowyer passed on lap 14.
Scott Gaylord's #52 began smoking on lap 16. He dropped to the apron and headed for the garage. The race remained under green. Gaylord joined Johnny Sauter, Kevin Lepage, and Kertus Davis in the garage.
Lap 20 saw David lose a spot to Kelly Bires; however, he regained 10th the next time around the track. Bires passed again on lap 23.
Green flag pit stops began on lap 39 with David Ragan, who had been running 16th. Busch pit the next time around the track, giving the lead to Jeff Burton. Others also made stops on the same lap, including David. Kevin Harvick led lap 42 when Burton came in. Brian Vickers, who had been running 2nd before stops, was called back to pit road for a missing lugnut. Harvick pit, and Brad Keselowski was out front on lap 44. Joey Logano overdrove his pit stall.
Stops cycled by lap 45, and Kyle Busch was back in the lead. David was 11th. He was 9th one lap later and 8th one lap after that.
The yellow flag waved for the first time on lap 57 after Vickers had scraped the outside wall. His #32 had been consistently the fastest car throughout the race. David Stremme in 13th received the free pass back onto the lead lap. The twelve cars already on the lead lap all pit, and David was the last one back on track.
Busch led the lap 61 restart with David running 12th. Two laps into the run, the #99 gained a spot from Bires' #47. David moved into 10th on lap 68; however, David Ragan got back around him one lap later. On lap 73, David was back in 10th.
Lap 77 saw the second caution for debris. Brad Keselowski received the free pass, and the leaders made stops. David picked up two spots and came off 8th. Bowyer had to return to pit road for a lugnut issue.
Racing resumed on lap 82 with Busch leading and David in 8th. Four laps later, David picked up 7th from Mike Bliss. He lost the spot to Kevin Harvick going into lap 94. Lap 105 saw Harvick go to pit road for a potential loose wheel, allowing David to pick up 7th. Keselowski slowed on the track one lap later and limped to the pits with no power. The #99 was back to 8th on lap 114 when Mike Bliss passed, but David regained the spot one lap later. Around the same time, David Gilliland scraped the wall and was blackflagged to fix his hanging rear. David picked up 6th on lap 124 after Jamie McMurray dropped back.
Green flag pit stops began on lap 124, and a number of cars came in. David was 2nd on lap 125, and he stopped the next time around the track. The #99 took on an air pressure adjustment and four tires. Bowyer led lap 127. He pit the next time around the track, and Bires took the top spot. Edwards attempted to pass Busch for the future lead, and Steve Wallace's lapped car blocked his attempt. Bliss was blackflagged for speeding on pit road when he came in for his stop.
Stops cycled by lap 129. Busch led, and David was 9th. One lap later, the #99 was 8th.
The third caution was on lap 132 after Chase Miller got loose on his own and hit the wall off Turn 2. Bliss received the free pass.
Busch led the lap 136 restart with David in 7th. One lap into the run, he dropped a spot. Jimmie Johnson and Jason Leffler both developped tire rub. David regained 7th on lap 138 as Johnson pit immediately and Leffler sparked significantly with a cut tire before making his stop.
The yellow flag waved with 12 to go due to debris from the contact. Jason Keller received the free pass.
Green returned on lap 143 with Busch leading and David in 7th. Four laps later, Bowyer passed the #99.
Josh Wise wrecked just after the white flag waved, ending the race under yellow. Busch won, and David finished 8th.
