Photos of my Mikey track wear (27 May 2004):
Over the past few days, I've been working on a few items to wear to the track when I go to Dover next week. I put the shirt together first, and then stitched the skirt last night. With smaller, more even stitching, I'm happy with how this outfit looks.
This is what the whole thing looks like altogether, complete with the obligatory Mikey bucket hat. [The bucket hat came that way; I didn't stitch a thing. It's just the hat that I wear most often, so it goes with the outfit!]
This came off the back of a shirt I bought at WalMart that was a little snug around the hips, and WAAAAAAY too see-through.
This piece is from the front of that same shirt.
This part was pretty tough to do. The 'Waltrip' patches ironed on easily, but I couldn't get the #15 iron-on transfer to show up on the shirt. At first, it wouldn't even stick! I finally got it on, but for some reason, it was all white. The colours were REALLY faint around the edges. So I sewed red yarn around the sides to secure the edges of the iron-on and to make the numbers pop.
