With NASCAR's decision regarding the #55 Napa Camry yet to be announced, Michael Waltrip did not participate in practice sessions today at Daytona International Speedway. His drivers, Dale Jarrett and David Reutimann, turned laps in preparation for tomorrow's Gatorade Duel 150's and relayed information back to the team.
Dale's #44 and David's #00 ranked 48th and 50th respectively in the first session of the day. Dale's 48.650-second lap at 184.995 MPH was 0.849 seconds behind fastest lap-turner Matt Kenseth. David trailed Kenseth by 0.933 seconds with a 48.734-second lap at 184.676 MPH.
While David improved in the day's second practice, Dale fared about the same. David was 18th with a 48.380-second lap at 186.027 MPH, which was 0.423 seconds behind session leader Ryan Newman. With a 48.625-second lap at 185.090 MPH, Dale was 0.668 seconds behind Newman and ranked 45th.
