Michael Waltrip will start 31st in the New England 300, today's Busch Series race at New Hampshire International Speedway. His 30.454-second lap at 125.067 MPH was 0.745 seconds behind pole winner Kyle Busch.
Mikey came on track at 11:25am. His crew chief read off a 30.50 on his first lap.
"Egh!!" Mikey exclaimed.
"Run a 45 on the second lap," his crew chief told him.
"That's bullshit, man!" Mikey complained. He said the car handled perfectly, and he did everything he could. "I just about broke my ankle pushing the gas."
His crew chief said they would learn from today and work on it next week.
