ATLANTA, April 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Aaron Rents, Inc. today announced that 6-year old Benee Calderon of Buena Park, California has won the nationwide Color your Way to Talladega Sweepstakes. Benee and three of his family members will enjoy an all-expense paid trip to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend to watch as Michael Waltrip takes the wheel of the No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine in the paint scheme designed by the young boy.
According to his mother, Christie Calderon, "We are so proud of Benee for submitting the winning design. Coloring is just one of those things he's really good at!"
Ms. Calderon's mother, Linda Christian, picked up the coloring sheet for Benee from the Aaron's location in Fullerton, California. According to Ms. Calderon, "She's always doing things like that. I never thought she'd actually enter it. I figured she took it home and put it up on her refrigerator or something."
Luckily for Benee and his family, his grandmother did return it to the store where it was eventually selected from a field of more than 25,000 entries as the winning design.
Young Benee could hardly believe his good fortune when he received word that his design had won. "I am really happy my Nana entered my picture and I'm really happy Aaron's liked it."
Aaron's President Ken Butler said, "Benee's design will look just awesome on the Aaron's Dream Machine. We are thrilled to be able to reward his efforts with a weekend he and his family will never forget. Not too many 6-year olds get to see their drawings come to life -- let alone watch them travel by at 185 miles per hour. We're happy to make this dream weekend a reality for the Calderon family."
Benee and his family will have the chance to meet 11-time Busch Series winner Michael Waltrip when they travel to Talladega for the Aaron's Dream Weekend. Aaron's is the entitlement sponsor of both the Busch Series race and the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race this weekend.
Speedway officials anticipate more than a quarter of a million fans will be in attendance for the Aaron's 312 on Saturday and the Aaron's 499 on Sunday. In addition, both races will be carried live on FOX. This ensures Benee's version of the No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine will be seen by millions of NASCAR fans all across the country.
