/noticias.info/ After two straight weekends of wet, cold and sometimes snowy weather conditions, the green flag fell in Martinsville under sunny skies and 80 degree temperatures. Michael Waltrip started the DirecTV 500 from the 33rd position. Halfway through the event Waltrip was forced behind the wall when his brakes caught fire. The No. 55 team went to work on the NAPA race car and Waltrip returned to the track.
The trip to the garage put Waltrip 55 laps down to the leaders, but the race’s attrition rate allowed the NAPA team to gain valuable championship points. Waltrip finished the race in the 29th position.
