Jimmy Spencer had hoped to make a rare Nextel Cup start this weekend, filling in for rookie Brent Sherman, who was roughed up by the veterans last week at Bristol. But Spencer was far off the pace and failed to get Beth Ann Morgenthau's car in the field.
