NASCAR's Brian France, Bill Davis of Bill Davis Racing and Michael Waltrip of Michael Waltrip Racing show the way to make their sport grow. NASCAR is America, but America is not just NASCAR. France, Davis and Waltrip join the likes of A.J. Foyt, Roger Penske and Tony George of Indianapolis Motor Speedway in demonstrating the dynamics of motor sports and its worldwide appeal.
You would think that Jack Roush and Ray Evernham, with their tremendous knowledge of motor sports and business, would be able to see that Toyota's emergence into NASCAR is a win-win situation. But they apparently can't handle the competition. That is too bad.
Their fear seems to be that Toyota has deep pockets and would open the doors to Honda and Nissan. Toyota and Honda have been around Formula 1 racing for years and haven't dominated it. They made Europeans make a better product.
